Hey guys, big fan of your show. I have a comment on your video game violence segment.

I agree that Doom did not necessarily cause columbine and that these boys had major problems that were more than likely caused by other factors, but to say that this particular violent video game had no effect on how things played out is inaccurate. Had they not gotten their inspiration from Doom the outcome would most likely have been different. Sure they could have gotten their inspiration from another source that glorifies or popularizes violence but that deosn't mean we should defend any of those sources. Violent games may not be the main cause of violent behaviour but it is obviously playing a role in how violent acts are carried out and to what extent.

Violent video games are a part of media violence and by saying there is no relationship makes skeptics part of the problem when we should be part of the solution.
